Saving on Texas Home Insurance |
|
There are a few ways you can save money on your Texas Home Insurance. It is not rocket science.
Just use the following checklist when doing your insurance shopping.
|
- Combine your home insurance policy and auto insurance policy with the same company. Almost every insurance company will give you a multi-policy discount. This discount is often in the range of 10% or more on each policy.
- Review your deductible levels. The deductible is the amount of money you have to pay on a loss before the insurance company kicks in with their share. Some older policies have a $500 or $1,000 deductible. In a time when 1% deductibles are the most common, paying higher insurance fees to keep a very low deductible may not be the best approach. At the same time, you should be wary of the very high deductible levels like 2% or even 5%. They may require you to pay so much money to repair a loss that you cannot afford to make the repair and the insurance company will not have to pay a thing. If you need some help with this one, just give us a call or e-mail us.
- Review your policy. Make sure you are not continuing to pay for some insurance feature that you no longer require. You may have endorsements for coverage on expensive items that you no longer have. We can assist in reviewing the coverage to make sure you have the right insurance at the right price.
- Stay with the Same Company. Most insurance companies give discounts for long term customers. It is just a few percent over several years but every little bit helps. Unless you can save serious money for the same coverage, or unless your current company has disappointed you, you should keep your current company.
